  • Malaysian Club of Chicago (MCC) is hosting a Malaysian flag raising ceremony at 11.30 am at the Daley plaza in Chicago on Friday 8/30/2013. We in MCC would like to invite you and your peers to the ceremony. Daley Plaza is an outdoor venue where City of Chicago host many of it's international or cultural events. It is the only day where Malaysian Flag is raised next to the American flag in the city of Chicago. This ceremony signifies our country's patriotic effort in reaching independence in 1957 and recognizes presence of Malaysians in Chicagoland area.

The ceremony will be followed by short introduction to Malaysia and Q&A session with the audience.

As representative of Malaysia, most of us will be dressed in Malaysian costumes, such as baju kurung, cheongsam, or sari. You are welcome to dress up or at least business casual. There will be a changing room to dress down after the ceremony.

After the ceremony, a few of us are heading to Chicago Curry House near by for lunch. The lunch buffet is $10.95 ++ per person. It will be great if you can join us as well.
